Tamborine’s local beers, poured cold since 1997
Since 1997, the Bearded Dragon Hotel has been part of Tamborine’s story; serving cold drinks, hearty feeds, country hospitality and the kind of afternoons that start with “just one” and somehow end at sunset.
We’ve hosted birthdays, weddings, functions, family lunches, corporate events, Sunday sessions and more knock-off drinks than we can count. Through it all, one thing has stayed pretty simple: people love a good beer, especially when it has a bit of character.
That’s why our beers are a little different.
They’re exclusive to the Bearded Dragon Hotel, which means you won’t find them at just any bottle shop, supermarket, the chain pub down the road or tucked behind a trendy city bar only selling the big wigs.
You’ll find them right here in Tamborine, poured cold, with a proper pub welcome and just enough cheek to keep things interesting. Available across our bars or grab and go our popular 500ml growlers from our onsite Tamborine bottleshop.
Beers with a Bit of Backbone
We’re proudly pokie-free, and we’ve always been proud of that.
It means we don’t rely on flashing machines in the corner to keep the place going. We rely on good food, good service, great events, loyal locals, curious travellers and beer people actually want to come back for.
A lot of the big-name beers these days are owned by massive overseas companies, brewed for mass appeal and marketed like they just rode in from a dusty Queensland cattle station. Nothing wrong with having a favourite classic, of course; but if we’re going to pour beer in Tamborine, we reckon it should have a bit more local heart behind it.
So we’ve built a beer lineup that suits real pub drinkers.
There’s crisp lager for the easy-going crowd, mid-strength for the responsible legends, pale ale for the hop lovers, a proper draught for traditional beer drinkers, a tropical refreshing ale for sunny afternoons, an XPA with royal swagger, and a brown ale with enough depth to make your uncle stop talking for three seconds.

Fully Chopped is our clean, easy-drinking low-carb lager. It’s crisp, refreshing and made for people who want a cold beer that doesn’t muck about.
It has that familiar Australian lager feel — the kind Great Northern Original or Carlton Dry drinkers will settle into quickly — but with its own Bearded Dragon attitude. Think lazy arvos, cold pots, tall tales and someone definitely exaggerating about the size of a fish.
Great for hot days, knock-offs, weddings, birthdays and anyone who says, “Just give me something cold and decent.”

Half Chopped Lager

Half Chopped is the lighter lager for legends who want crisp refreshment without the full wobble. It’s clean, balanced and easy to drink, with enough flavour to feel like a proper beer.
If you’re usually a XXXX Gold or Great Northern Super Crisp drinker, this is your lane. It’s made for long lunches, designated drivers, work functions, Sunday sessions and anyone who still needs to get the Hilux home in one piece.

Dragon’s Draught
