Beaudesert Shire – Queenslands Hidden Oasis

Beaudesert Country Tourism

Queensland Hidden Oasis Revealed

Beaudesert Shire is taking bold steps with its new marketing campaign and image make-over. This is a true Cinderella story with Beaudesert set to show off its many assets and dazzle residents and visitors.

The multi-media marketing campaign, a joint initiative of Beaudesert Shire Council, Tamborine Mountain Chamber of Commerce and Beaudesert Local Tourism Organisation Beaudesert Country Tourism will lift perceptions and re-educate potential visitors to Beaudesert Shire.

Aimed at overnight visitors from Brisbane and the Gold Coast, the campaign kicks off with an emotive television campaign on prime time Channel Nine from Tuesday 18th October. A stark contrast to the fast paced destinations like Brisbane and Gold Coast, this ad will capture snapshots of Beaudesert Shire to encourage visitors to find out for themselves that a spectacular destination is at their doorstep.

Beaudesert Country Tourism President, Monique Gregory said the campaign was part of a long-term strategy to change the perception of Beaudesert Shire in the surrounding South East Queensland Pocket, and the result of 2 years of planning, research and development. It is a bold statement and a bold commitment and we think that reflects Beaudesert in its natural and best light. With 2854.4 square kilometres of area to promote some might see this as a difficult task but with this comes amazing diversity and this has made the Beaudesert Shire Marketing Groups job just that much easier!

For this image make-over, the ad combines with a beautifully presented website
www.queenslandshiddenoasis.com , with an online booking service for accommodation and tours. A new Tourism logo, a very stylish 68 page gloss brochure with maps and interesting editorial, a tourism signage overhaul and merchandising.

The ad was produced by Brisbane based agency, Advertising Depot (AD), which recently rebranded Dreamworld and Greyhound, and in 2004 won four of the ten Queensland Australian Marketing Industry Awards for branding, innovation, marketing communications and sponsorship.

The ad was launched by the Minister for Tourism, Fair Trading and Wine Industry Development Margaret Keech at a luncheon hosted by Cedar Creek Estate Winery at Tamborine Mountain. Federal Minister for Forde Kay Elson, Kevin Lingard, Beaudesert Shire Mayor Joy Drescher, all Beaudesert Shire Councillors, industry partners and stakeholders attended in support of the new campaign.

Host Lochie Daddo, presenter with the Getaway Program, said the Beaudesert Shire’s mission was to inspire South East Queensland to live, work and play in its scenic surrounds. It will surprise all who are unfamiliar with the Shire’s natural beauty and rural country charm. But those of you are lucky enough to live and work here in Queensland’s Hidden Oasis know that this kind of secret was eventually going to get out.

Ms Monique Gregory said that the collaborative approach by the Beaudesert Shire Marketing Group, combining government and industry, ensures the best results for
stakeholders, residents and most importantly for domestic and international visitors to the beautiful shire.

This includes Southern Shire ( Kooralbyn, Rathdowney, Mt Barney, Mt Lindsay & Mt Maroon : Gateway to the Scenic Rim), Eastern Shire ( Lamington, Binna Burra, Tamborine Mountain and Canungra), Central Beaudesert Township and even extends to include North Shire (Greenbank, North Maclean, Gleneagle, Jimboomba, Logan Village and Chambers Flat).
