When Tegan and Philip set their wedding date for May 4th, 2023, little did they know it would serendipitously align with Star Wars Day. Embracing the coincidence, they added a fun, galactic twist to their special day at Bearded Dragon Hotel. The result? A wedding filled with love, laughter, and a touch of interstellar charm.
A Ceremony to Remember
With the stunning Tamborine Mountain as their backdrop, Tegan and Philip exchanged vows in a ceremony that was both heartfelt and humorous. Celebrant Michael Gardiner, a favourite at Bearded Dragon Hotel, kicked off the event in a Darth Vader costume, complete with a cloak and lightsaber. The atmosphere was electric, with belly laughs and joyous tears filling the air as the couple said “I do.”

After the ceremony, family and guests gathered for group photos, expertly captured by Feather and Finch. The iconic Love Wagon, which sadly met its end in the storm of Christmas 2023, provided a nostalgic backdrop for some of our favorite photos. We’re emotional just looking at them!

Donkey Delight
The highlight of the photo session was undoubtedly the debut of our resident donkeys, Clancy and Matilda, who posed for their first-ever wedding photo shoot. Since, our donkeys have walked many newly wedded couples through our paddocks for a stunning photo opportunity like no other. Their charm and personality added a unique and memorable touch to Tegan and Philip’s special day.

Reception in the Bluegum Ballroom
At 5:30 PM, guests were invited to the beautifully decorated Bluegum Ballroom for the reception. Our head wedding coordinator, Nae, ensured everything was perfectly orchestrated. The ballroom was elegantly styled with our in-house décor, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Kid-Friendly Fun Reception
Understanding the importance of keeping young guests entertained, Tegan and Philip opted for customised kids’ activity packs and a dedicated kids’ corner. The little ones enjoyed personalised colouring sheets, a breakout activity zone, alpaca and goat feeding, and most importantly, up-close donkey time during the cocktail hour.
