About the Live Music Gig: On Friday, October 27th, from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the Beergarden Stage at Bearded Dragon Hotel is the place to be! We’ve got the one and only Marshall Dawson Okell ready to rock your socks off.
Marshall Dawson Okell: Now, don’t be a drongo and miss out on this one-of-a-kind Aussie talent. Born under a full moon on a Good Friday the 13th, you know he’s gotta have some fair dinkum magic in him. Named after legends like Jimi ‘Marshall’ Hendrix and Johnny ‘Dawson’ Winter, this bloke was practically born with a guitar in hand.
His old man, Glenn, was a true blue Melbourne rock-n-roll guitarist and the apple didn’t fall far from the tree. Young Marshall grew up on a diet of Hendrix, Winter, Muddy Waters, Little Feat, and AC/DC. With a guitar case for a crib, he had tunes in his ears from the get-go.
Hailing from the NSW far North Coast, Marshall’s backyard was the epic surf spots of Lennox Head, Byron Bay, and Ballina. He’s a fair dinkum local legend, connecting with the community and soaking up the vibes of the coastline.
The stage was calling him early, mate. He had his first band, ‘The Immortal Flames,’ at the ripe age of 11. Then he went on to tear it up with punk and hard-rock bands like ‘Noosphere’ and ‘Spirit.’ By the time he hit 19, he’d already supported more bands than you can poke a stick at and played in every live music dive in the region.
So, gather your cobbers and come on down to Bearded Dragon Hotel’s Beergarden Stage on October 27th for an arvo of top-notch tunes, good grub, and ripper vibes. You’d be a galah to miss it!
